Can I change the code on my keypad?

What type of operators do you have?
Check the Garage Door Openers section of our website which you can access from the list on the left.

How do I reset my operator?
Although most operators do not have a reset button on them, it sometimes helps to unplug the unit, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in (sometimes this will allow the internal computer chip to re-cycle itself).

What is the warranty for my torsion spring I just had replaced?
Any torsion spring replacement is covered by a one year labor warranty from the date of service. We will also cover the spring replaced for five years.

What is the warranty for the extension spring I just had replaced?
Any extension spring replacement is covered by a one year labor and one year on the spring from the date of service.

How long is your parts and labor warranty for any other part replaced?
Any part replaced is covered for 90 days and labor is covered for 30 days from date of service.

What kind of doors and operators do you repair?
We repair all brands of doors and motor operators, including residential and commercial doors.

Can I buy a new clicker/remote at the shop?
Yes. Our showrooms carry an extensive selection of transmitters for garage doors openers. If your transmitter is no longer supported by the original equipment manufacturer, we can usually provide an after-market alternative. You can also go to our online store.

My receipt says “Test Failed” – What does this mean?
ANSI/UL 325 Standards state that automatic garage door openers must reverse the door at 1 ½” when an obstruction is hit.  This marking states that your garage door opener(s) does not reverse at 1 ½” and should be repaired, if possible, or replaced.

How do I test the reversing mechanism on my garage door opener and how often should I do this?
Place a 2″ x 4″ on level ground where the door would touch when closed. After attempting to close the door, the garage door opener should reverse within 2 seconds of hitting the 2″ x 4″ piece of wood. You should do this every 3 months. If your door does not reverse, it may be necessary to have a qualified technician come out and diagnose the problem.

My receipt says that I am non-compliant with DASMA 116, what does this mean?
DASMA 116 states that a garage door that is not pinch resistant must have two handles or gripping points on the inside and two on the outside. One must be on the bottom section within six inches of the bottom edge, and the other must be 20-30 inches directly above it. If a handle is within four inches of a section interface (pinch point), it must “promote vertical orientation of the hand.”

Is it mandatory to comply with DASMA 116?
No. This is voluntary.

My technician recommended safety cables for my extension springs, why do I need these?
If an extension spring breaks it can rocket across the garage with such force that it can penetrate a double layer of 5/8″ wallboard! This spring can also seriously injure a person or damage your precious vehicle. The safety cable will contain this spring once it breaks.
